Purpose

The aim of this course is to enable a trainee to use a safety harness system for personal fall prevention when operating a stock picker.

Course Outline

At the successful completion of this course the trainee will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the hazards associated with wearing a safety harness system and associated equipment.
  • Check and fit a safety harness.
  • Identify suitable anchor points on a stock picker.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the rescue plan to be activated in an emergency.

Who Should Attend

Any workers operating a stock picker in the warehouse or distribution industry.

Entry Criteria

Trainees must have a valid operator’s certificate for the make/model/type of stock picker being used for the training.

Additionally, trainees must meet the safety weight criteria for the machine, harness system, including connecting components (max. 136 kg), and anchor points.

Special Note

Exceptions to the above may only be made following consultation with VHNZ.
