Purpose

The aim of this course is to enable a trainee to produce an occupational health and safety incident investigation based on organisational requirements, an incident and a report based on that incident. 

Course Objectives

At the completion of this course, successful trainees will be able to:

  • Explain why workplace accidents/incidents need to be reported and investigated.
  • Explain the concepts of multiple causation and root-cause analysis.
  • Detail an incident investigation process using a hypothetical incident.
  • Produce an incident investigation report based on a documented incident.

Special Note

Health and Safety Representative - Stage Three can also be completed online.

NOTE: This course provides credits towards the NZ Certificate in Workplace Health & Safety Practice (Level 3).
