Cyclone Gabrielle relief

In February this year, Cyclone Gabrielle devastated parts of the North Island and was the deadliest system to hit New Zealand since Cyclone Giselle in 1968, surpassing Cyclone Bola in 1988.

Like many of you, we have had staff, friends, and whānau in these areas who have been hard hit. The first thing we did was ask ourselves, what can we do now, to help those most affected.

The rural areas have been hard hit, as many rely on tank or main supply for water, and those on the main supply are without it, due to multiple breaks in the pipeline.

On Friday 24th February, VHNZ donated 12L and 25L water containers, with more on the way, to Rongowhakaata Iwi Trust in Manutuke, to help those affected by the cyclone.

We hope that our donation will provide some relief to those affected by this devastating event.
