PURPOSE

The aim of this course is to produce a quad bike operator. The learner will be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attributes for all essential areas of “best practice” guidelines for quad bike driving in the workplace.

 

This course enables the learner to ride effectively and safely over varied terrain. The learner will also be able to demonstrate the appropriate responsibilities of a rider of a quad bike with emphasis on accident prevention.

 

NOTE: No licence is required if 100% of use is on private property with no public access. Where public land is to be accessed the correct licence and registration is required. Learners under 16 years of age are not allowed to operate an adults sized quad bike.

ENTRY CRITERIA
  • The course requires a level of fitness to demonstrate competency for the skill being trained.
  • Attendees must be aged 15 years or over.
PRE-REQUISITES

US 24554:
US 24557 – Demonstrate knowledge of the safe operation of a quad bike

 

US 24559 and 24561:
US 24554 – Operate a quad bike on flat terrain in the workplace under close supervision

Both of which will be delivered during the course.

This course can be focused to include company developed operating and site procedures and protocols, relevant to individual workplace requirements.

ASSESSMENT ADVICE

Learners must be able to evidence a minimum of 20 hours riding quad bikes in a workplace situation, achieved over a minimum of 6 weeks. This must be verified by employer attestation.
