PURPOSE
The aim of this course is to enable a learner to evaluate retrieval possibilities for recovery of a suspended individual after a fall in a particular work context and determine retrieval strategies; prepare a rescue plan to recover an individual suspended in a safety harness after a fall; and review a rescue plan to recover an individual suspended in a safety harness after a fall.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the successful completion of the course, learners will be able to:
- Evaluate retrieval possibilities for recovery of a suspended individual after a fall
- Prepare a rescue plan to recover an individual suspended in a harness after a fall
- Evaluate the availability of medical aid
- Communicate the rescue plan
- Conduct a rescue using a variety of techniques appropriate to the situation.

ENTRY CRITERIA
- Attendees must be aged 15 years or over
- The course requires a level of fitness to demonstrate competency for the skill being trained.
