PURPOSE
The purpose of this course is to equip solar installation professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the unique critical risks and controls within the solar industry. By integrating real-world height scenarios, the course aims to provide an immersive and impactful learning experience that enhances safety and efficient solar installations.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The course requires a level of fitness to demonstrate competency for the skill being trained.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the successful completion of the course, the learner will be able to:
- Understand the unique risks faced by the solar industry and apply appropriate risk controls.
- Identify safe anchor points and their correct application.
- Use proprietary fall arrest systems effectively.
- Install and dismantle straightforward proprietary fall arrest systems using designated anchor points.
- Check, fit, and correctly use a safety harness.
- Safely use a safety harness where a fall hazard exists at height.
- Demonstrate understanding of the rescue plan to be activated in the event of a fall.
