PURPOSE

The aim of this training is to enable participants to perform injured person rescue operations in a WTG nacelle, tower, and basement, by using industry standard rescue equipment, methods, and techniques, exceeding those of the GWO BST basic working at height.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the successful completion of the module, learners will be able to:

  • Assess risks and understand the importance of a rescue plan.
  • Use advanced lifting and lowering systems.
  • Safely package and evacuate an injured person.
  • Rescue from an enclosed/crawl space
ENTRY CRITERIA

Learners should be medically fit, appear well-rested and be capable of fully participating showing no signs of fatigue, substance abuse or sickness.

In addition, participants must hold a valid WINDA training record for GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) standards, including Working at Heights Module, First Aid, and Manual Handling.

This module can only be delivered privately at the client’s wind farm.

UNIT STANDARDS

This course is non-unit standard based, however, it is aligned with GWO standards, specifically module ART-N
