PURPOSE

The purpose of this course is to provide essential information about factors that contribute to injury in the rural workplace along with safe work practices in rural workplaces.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Describe personal and external factors that contribute to injury in a rural workplace.
  • Describe strategies to manage personal and external factors that may contribute to injury in a rural workplace.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of features of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 applicable to a primary industry operation.
  • Apply the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 in relation to the duties of a primary industry worker.
ENTRY CRITERIA

Hold a current New Zealand Firearms licence if handling firearms.

This course is intended for employees working in a rural workplace.
