PURPOSE

This course is designed to provide trainees with an understanding of the contributory causes of DPI and the factors that need to be considered when preventing and managing DPI in the workplace.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

On completion of this eLearning course trainees will be able to:

  • Describe what is meant by DPI.
  • Outline the groups of contributory factors and how they combine to result DPI.
  • Describe contributory factors individuals and workplaces need to consider when preventing and managing DPI.
  • Outline measures used to manage the risks to staff experiencing DPI.

Any person working or supervising people at work and/or seeking to improve workplace health and safety, especially the prevention and management of DPI in the workplace.

This course also provides credits toward VHNZ’s New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety (Level 3).
