Fee decreases plus new apprenticeship fee structure in 2025

From 1st January 2025 we are introducing some important changes to our Apprenticeship fee structure that you need to know about. The most important thing to know is that the total amount you pay is NOT increasing, if fact, prices for VHNZ apprenticeships will be decreasing by between 5% – 30% (depending on your apprenticeship and strand). What is changing in 2025 is when the payments are required.

Beginning 1st January 2025, following industry feedback, instead of charging a set weekly amount we will charge per block course. This change makes it clear exactly what your fees are paying for and as block courses are scheduled when you first start your apprenticeship, you’ll know exactly what is due and when.

The good news is, if you are currently making regular payments (e.g. weekly, fortnightly, or monthly) or you are receiving fees-free payments and are eligible for the 2025 rollover, there will be no changes for you (until your fees-free eligibility expires).

Starting in January 2025, if you are not currently on a payment plan, we’ll send you (or your employer, depending on who is paying) an invoice prior to your next block course. It is important to note that if the block course is not paid for prior to the course starting you will not be able to attend the course.

Fees Free

In the budget announcement this year the government changed how Fees Free will work from 2025. Instead of the first year (or two) being free it is changing to the last year (or two) of study that will be free. You can find out more information as well as check your eligibility on the fees free website.

Why is the pricing structure changing?
The change is driven by industry feedback and a desire to create a clear and simple pricing model. Our new pricing structure is aligned with the specific resources and requirements needed for each course, helping to simplify accounting and invoicing.

Will the prices increase for all block courses?
No. In fact, our prices are decreasing by between 5% - 30% (depending on apprenticeship and strand) but we are transitioning to a payment model based on block courses. In the future, we plan to offer discounts for learners who choose digital assessments.

Can I pay in instalments or use a payment plan?
Yes, we will continue to offer payment options such as direct debit and instalments to help ease the financial burden. You can opt for a payment plan to spread the cost over time.

Will there be any new fees introduced?
No, there are no new fees, the total amount you will pay in 2025 will be less than 2024.
