Congratulations to Connor Ashton of OTS Roofing, our October 2025 Apprentice of the Month!
Connor left school at 16 and began his roofing journey with his uncle, an opportunity he’s always been grateful for. Today, he’s thriving at OTS Roofing in Raglan, where he’s earned a supervisory role and a company work truck through hard work and dedication.
Rejoining the apprenticeship programme for a second time, Connor faced early challenges but showed real determination to stay on track. He’s now achieved 100% completion in his assessments and is on track to complete his apprenticeship in November 2025, a huge turnaround from when he once struggled with his bookwork.
Connor credits his success to many people, especially his mum, his late dad, and his partner Jemma, who have supported him every step of the way. Outside of work, Connor loves skating and makes time for it whenever he can.
His message to others:
“Trust the process and keep pushing forward, no matter what, even if it means doing it with a smile through the hard times.”
