PURPOSE

The course is designed to train an individual to identify the health and safety risks of the chemicals at work, and the controls designed to minimise your exposure to these risks.

After the successful completion of this online course trainees will be able to demonstrate knowledge of:

  • Their obligations under the current legislation the health and safety.
  • Risks associated with their workplace chemicals.
  • The controls required to reduce the risk of exposure.
  • The safe use of equipment, including PPE, to reduce their risk of exposure.
  • Their actions during chemical emergencies at work.
  • An emergency involving Hazardous Substances in the workplace.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is primarily for people employed in work that does not necessarily involve the direct use of handling of hazardous substances, but would benefit from awareness of associated adverse effects of hazardous substances present on a site.

It may also be useful for first time users or handlers of hazardous substances prior to specific training safe management and handling, and for contractors and frequent site visitors.

SPECIAL NOTES
