With over 100 courses on offer at Vertical Horizonz, it can be hard to know where to start. Here’s a little intro into some of the courses our Auckland team have on offer in the coming months.
Over a one day period this course will enable a trainee to use a safety harness for personal fall prevention when working at height. As far as possible, training will focus on prevention and restraint techniques using travel restraint strategies rather than fall arrest.

This two day course covers the skills in the basic course and builds on them to enable a trainee to use, install and disestablish proprietary fall arrest systems when working at height.

Working at Height Refresher - Advanced
Refreshers are recommended to be completed every 3 years to ensure you remain current with industry best practise.

Confined Space and Gas Testing
Over two days trainees with be taught to identify hazards and controls within confined spaces; develop an emergency procedure plan; and complete the necessary documentation required for a confined space entry.

This blended learning course involves online pre-learning with 4 hours of classroom time and aims to train a person to be capable of providing immediate first aid in an emergency situation in order to preserve life, promote recovery and prevent the casualty’s condition from worsening.
This course is perfect for designated office first aiders or anyone who wants to be able to be able to provide first aid in an emergency situation.

MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform)
This half day course covers both theory and practical aspects of MEWPs.

Location: All located at Wiri
Certificate of Competency for Industrial Rope Access
This one day course allows all NZQA qualified rope access operators and technicians to obtain an Industrial Rope Access Association of New Zealand (IRAANZ) Certificate of Competence (CoC), which identifies their current proficiency to work in New Zealand.
A CoC is current for three years and can be easily renewed with proof of logged hours in the industry. The cost of the CoC covers the IRAANZ CoC card, an IRAANZ log book and a three-year IRAANZ affiliate membership.
