UNIT STANDARD 1754: Operate Truck-Mounted Load Lifting Equipment

Recently Vertical Horizonz New Zealand (VHNZ) retired UNIT STANDARD 1754: Operate Truck-Mounted Load Lifting Equipment from the training portfolio. This Unit Standard expires at the end of 2016 as it does not meet the training requirements outlined in Part 4 of the Approved Code of Practice for Cranes, 3rd edition.

Those credited with this unit standard are able to: assess the worksite and prepare to lift and place loads; describe the functions of critical components and equipment used for lifting, and select lifting equipment and sling load; lift and place loads with a truck loader crane; and secure the crane and prepare the truck for road transport mode, stow equipment, and complete documentation. They will be able to demonstrate skills acquired from 150 or more hours of practice, select and apply from a range of known solutions to familiar problems, adapting behaviour as appropriate and work under limited supervision. This unit is identified as required for the operation of a truck mounted crane in the ACOP crane.
