Christchurch Training Centre Official Opening
Friday 23rd August 2019 saw the Grand Opening of our new Training Centre based in Middleton, Christchurch.
A great turn out of local Employers, industry representatives and vendors, ensured the opening event was a success.
The centre was officially opened and blessed and a symbolic carving gifted to the centre was presented. Specialist height trainers demonstrated a rescue, and it also gave the chance for everyone to walk through and see the new fabulous training facility, and celebrate with the whole South Island VHNZ team.
Te Manu
Te manu is shaped in the figure of a tongue because of its ability to share knowledge verbally, in this instance the message is a whakatauki.
This piece came about through the artists interpretation of the whakatauki
“Ko te manu e kai ana i te miro, nÅna te ngahere. Engari, ko te manu e kai ana i te mÄtauranga, nÅna te ao”.
Which means
“The bird that feeds from the forest, that shall be his domain. But the bird that indulges in education, possibilities are enless”.
Te Manu is a reminder to always keep on the pursuit of furthering ones horizons.

The Marlborough Health and Safety Expo 2019 took place at the Greenmeadows Centre in Nelson on the 8th August.
Regional Training Managers Duncan and Lance held the fort at our Vertical Horizonz stand for the day, and enjoyed catching up with attendees and chatting about all our training options.
