Attendance numbers were approximately 90,000, National representation 23 pavilions, 110,000 Gross exhibition space, 30 NOCs and IOCs, 140 Conference sessions and 8000+ Delegates. This was an amazing event with the conference spread over a 2 km area. It was incredible to see the size of the event and the importance of ensuring your company can be represented due to the volume of people in attendance.
Industry standards that are recognised in the region are International Standard Organisation (ISO), National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC DIT), Skills for Oil and Gas (OPITO).
This visit to the conference was an eye opener due to the share size of the facilities and what is required to attract a global audience. I must thank our friend Nasser for taking Marcus and I to the 2015 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference. It was also pleasing to note that Australian and New Zealand qualifications are also recognised. Within the Oil and Gas environment international qualifications are set as the minimum acceptable standard required for workers to operate within this environment.
